We believe that no one has to go through life alone -- we are here to help anyone who is suffering mentally, physically, or spiritually. Our community initiatives have helped thousands of people of all ages since 2019 and we are proud to serve Edmonton for years to come!
Servants to the Suffering
At our core, we are dedicated to providing support to the community in areas that need it the most. Our mission is to “fill in the gaps” of today’s busy, overwhelmed society while making a tangible difference at a grassroots level. Since 2011, we have accomplished this by listening and making genuine connections with the people we help, whether they are children, seniors, or anyone in between. We help in any way we can, as much as we can. Once that’s done, we do it all over again.
The Can Man Dan Foundation started as the solo initiative of Daniel Johnstone, who himself grew up in poverty in a single-parent household. In 2011, he started going door-to-door collecting food and donations as a way of giving back to the city that took care of his family through social programs and the generosity of everyday people. Since then, Daniel has raised millions in resources and donations to help struggling Albertans. To expand results beyond what one person can do, Daniel officially founded the Can Man Dan Foundation in 2019. By bringing like-minded people together and abiding by the same values that make him one of the most prolific anti-poverty activists in western Canada, Daniel wishes to stand by his motto of "can't stop the good" more than ever before.
We aim to be innovative and inclusive in how we help others -- we are constantly brainstorming ways to ensure no one is left behind, forgotten, or underrepresented.
Please help us support those who have nowhere else to go. Your donation makes an immeasurable difference in the lives of people who need it the most. Through you, we can spread love to those who need it most.
