Dan @ Refuge Mission Hall (Blog)
"Earlier this Summer, I was asked to help out a local soup kitchen in Downtown Edmonton as they were short on staff and they needed some extra assistance in order to keep the show running. In between serving the guests, I was also asked to share the Word of God with the visitors and give a weekly sermon to those in attendance, and to pray with anyone seeking support, which I was more than happy to do!
The shelter is called the Refuge Mission Hall and it is a true bright spot for those in need. They are open 365 days a year, 7 days a week, and they don't refuse service to anyone. They provide food, clothing, rest, prayer, spiritual guidance, and lots more to hundreds of unique guests each and every day! The Refuge Mission Hall is always ready to help those who cannot help themselves and show them the Love of God.
Anyway, this was such a tremendous experience for me that I had to write a blog/article about it! I am so blessed and thankful that God led me here to serve.
The Refuge Mission Hall is currently running a fundraiser to help them cover some much needed renovations and future expansion. Please consider donating to them via their website and help them reach their fundraising goals!
Finally, they are always looking for clothing donations(good condition) and food donations (both perishable and non-perishable), so feel free to look in your closets and pantries for things that you could donate!
Donations can be brought to:
10542 96 Street, Edmonton, Alberta.

And, if you're ever looking to make a difference in your community, consider volunteering at the Refuge Mission Hall -- you'll be glad you did! There are lots of different jobs and opportunities available, so be sure to reach out and see how you can help!
Thank you to the Refuge Mission Hall for inviting me in over the summer, I truly had a blast and thank them for the selfless work they do."
